The annual inflation rate in Finland edged down to 1.0% in November 2024 from 1.1% in the previous month, with prices rising at softer paces for health (2.6% vs 3.1% in October) and miscellaneous goods & services (2.4% vs 3.1%). In addition, cost of transport continued to fall (-1.5% vs -2.0%), reflecting reductions in the prices of petrol, and diesel. At the same time,
housing & utility prices fell by 0.1%, following a 1.0% rise in October. Conversely, inflation remained unchanged for restaurants & hotels (at 2.9%) but accelerated for food, beverages, and tobacco (0.9% vs 0.2%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.6% vs 5.3%), clothing (1.9% vs 0.6%), furnishings & household equipment (1.2% vs 0.4%), communication (3.4% vs 2.2%), and recreation & culture (1.2% vs 0.2%). Monthly, consumer prices declined by 0.4%, the first drop since August, after the steepest rise in eight months of 0.5% rise in October.
