The annual producer inflation in Macedonia increased to 5.1% in October 2024, accelerating from 3.5% in September. This marked the highest level since February 2023, driven by faster price increases across most sub-indexes, including energy (+14.6% vs. +13.2% in September), capital goods (+9.9% vs. +7.2%), and durable goods (+4.7% vs. +0.4%). Producer inflation for consumer goods also edged up slightly to 6.3%, compared to 6.2% in the previous month. Meanwhile, deflation persisted for intermediate goods excluding energy, which fell 8.1%, though this was a softer decline than the 10% drop recorded in September. On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.7%, picking up from a 0.3% increase in the prior period.
