Belgium’s annual inflation rate stood at 3.2% in November 2024, unchanged from the previous month and remaining at its highest level since July. Prices moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.31% vs 1.46% in October), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.16% vs 12.09%), housing and utilities (9.86% vs 9.9%), recreation and culture (1.24% vs 3.28%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.22% vs 3.38%). Meanwhile, costs accelerated for clothing and footwear (4.49% vs 2.21%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.16% vs 0.67%), health (1.76% vs 1.75%), communication (2.42% vs 2%), and restaurants and hotels (4.06% vs 3.36%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices slowed to 0.17% in November 2024 from 0.48% in the previous month.
