Motorbike sales in Indonesia grew 5.4% year-on-year to 544.392 units in October 2024, accelerating from a 3.7% gain in the previous month, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth. On a monthly basis, sales of motorbikes rose 3%, rebounding from a notable 7.9% fall in September. For the first ten months of 2024, sales increased 3.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 5.4 million units. The Association of Indonesia Motorcycle Industry (AISI) forecasts domestic sales to reach 6.2 – 6.5 million units in 2024 amid hopes of rising employment rates later this year. In 2023, motorbike sales soared by 19.4% to 6.2 million units, within AISI’s target range of 6.1 - 6.2 million units.
