The annual inflation rate in Lebanon fell to 15.4 percent in November 2024, the lowest since February 2020, from 15.7 percent in the previous month due to the stability of the exchange rate and the dollarization of the economy. Prices eased for clothing & footwear (20.1 percent vs 27.6 percent), miscellaneous goods & services (35.3 percent vs 37.3 percent), restaurant & hotels (18.9 percent vs 21 percent), and recreation & culture (10.9 percent vs 12.3 percent). Also, cost fell for communication (-0.3 percent vs 28.4 percent) and furniture & household equipment (-1.5 percent vs 0.4 percent). On the other hand, prices accelerated for housing & utilities (19.3 percent vs 16.9 percent), food & non-alcoholic beverages (23.2 percent vs 22.8 percent), transport (5.4 percent vs 5 percent), health (23 percent vs 18.3 percent), and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (21 percent vs 19.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 2.3 percent, following a 2 percent increase in October.
