The MOEX surged more than 2.6% to around the 2680 level, marking its strongest one-day rally in a year, as global stock markets rose following Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election. A second Trump presidency could foster improved relations between the U.S. and Russia, with policies potentially more favorable to Russian businesses. Trump also claimed he could negotiate an end to the Russia-Ukraine war within 24 hours and resolve it before his January inauguration. Gazprom (up 3.4%) and Novatek (up 4.2%) were among the top performers.
