Meanwhile, Japanese exports to the US will face a 24% tariff. On the monetary policy front, the Bank of Japan is expected to continue raising interest rates this year, though uncertainties surrounding global trade and domestic economic conditions cloud the outlook. BOJ Deputy Governor Shinichi Uchida told parliament that further rate hikes remain on the table if the economy aligns with forecasts, while the central bank closely monitors risks from tariffs.
