The Swedbank Manufacturing PMI for Sweden rose to 53.6 in March 2025, up from 53.5 in February, marking the highest level since last November. This increase was driven by an improvement in the production sub-index (59.2 vs. 54.6 in February). Meanwhile, expansion continued for inventory stocks (51.9 vs. 52.5), order intake (53.6 vs. 54.6), and employment (53.1 vs. 54.4). However, delivery times contracted (49 vs. 52.3), and the index for suppliers' raw and input prices climbed to 57.2 from 53.2, the highest in eleven months. "Swedish industry remains in an expansionary phase, with tariff hikes and geopolitical uncertainty not hindering recovery so far. However, risks have increased due to US tariffs on the European automotive sector," says Jörgen Kennemar, Swedbank’s PMI analyst.
